Director Emeritus, NASA Postdoc ProgramDr. Larry D. Voorhees received a Ph.D. in Zoology in 1976 from North Dakota State University. He was employed by Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) from 1976 to 2005. During this period, Dr. Voorhees worked on a variety of environmental science projects, and served as the Deputy Director of the Department of Energy Carbon Cycle Program, Director of the Oak Ridge Environmental Information System, and Director of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Distributed Active Archive Center for Biogeochemical Dynamics. After leaving ORNL, he was employed by Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU), to serve as the Director of the NASA Postdoctoral Program until 2009. After a short period of retirement, he returned to ORAU in a part-time capacity to recruit applicants for the NASA Postdoctoral Program.
