Cancer Stem Cells and Tumor Microenvironment
Brief Description of Research Interest :
I am focusing my researchinto the metastasis from Breast Cancer. I am interested into address howcertain tumors instigate disseminated dormant tumoral cells outgrowth, throughthe mobilization and subsequently creation of a tumor-supportivemicroenvironment, using a unique model described by Dr. Sandra McAllister (Cell2008).

Using this unique model, I am working also incollaboration with the world-known Dr. Robert A. Weinberg, trying to addresshow primary tumors affect proliferation of diseminated metastatic cells.

During my 3 years like postdoc at BWH, I have beenvery involved into the Harvard community, representing the postdocs atBrigham and Women´s hospital, like a Postdoctoral Leadership Council member.

Also, I have created a good network of friends whoare expertise on the Cancer Stem Cell and Metastasis field, withwho I have had the pleasure to write reviews, as well as, organize Nanocursesat Harvard University, destinated to Ph.D. students (Grade 2).
